A BLUE DAY AT MINEPOWER

Friday September 9 was BLUE JOX DAY!

Blue Jox Day at Windimurra was about creating awareness for prostate cancer and other cancers in men, and encouraged participants to make a donation and wear a pair of Blue Jox for the day.

As many men die from prostate cancer as women die from breast cancer but... a national survey by Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia in 2002 showed that while 78% of women felt well informed about breast cancer – only 52% of men felt informed about prostate cancer.

One in 9 men in Australia will develop prostate cancer in their lifetime. With the mining industry being predominantly made up men, this is a very real issue that we are facing every day.

Here at Windimurra, Minepower was lucky to have a few shining stars take part in the cause, with many buying raffle tickets, making donations… and of course… sporting the blue jox!! See the attached photos of our super hero’s in action!
